Commitment...is what transforms a promise into reality. It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions...and the actions which speak louder than words. It is making the time when there is none. Coming through time after time, year after year. Commitment is the stuff character is made of, the power to change the face of things. It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism.
Congratulations to the Varsity Winter Guard who made finals at the
Ft. Lauderdale Regional. They placed 6th out of 14 guards with only 7 being
allowed to perform at finals. Great Job!! Our best show yet!

***CONGRATULATIONS!***
DISTRICT 14 FBA MPA
This past weekend both of our concert bands performed for their District 14 Florida Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment held at Wellington High School . The Symphonic Band started the day off with a 9 am performance, warming up in the beautiful, new auditorium at Wellington HS. The band played their best ever (in my opinion) for the judges and audience. There were many parent and student supporters for such an early performance. After their stage performance the band went into the Wellington band room to sight-read two songs. It was a little rough but they pulled through. After sight-reading, the band took professional pictures outside. The Symphonic Band received the highest final rating possible receiving a Superior rating on stage. For sight-reading they received the second highest rating of Excellent which combined resulted in a final Superior rating overall. This is the first time at Seminole Ridge the 2nd band (Symphonic Band) received a Superior rating. Congratulations to all members of the Symphonic Band! J
The Wind Ensemble also performed at the District 14 FBA Music Performance Assessment at Wellington High School . The band met in the cafeteria and then went to the chorus room for warm-up. There were many parent and student supporters for their performance. After warming up the band headed to the stage for their performance. The band played very well and then headed to the sight-reading room. After a rough start on the march the band did better on the second song. The band then went outside and had pictures taken by Jolesch Photography. The Wind Ensemble received the highest final rating possible receiving a Superior rating on stage. For sight-reading they received the second highest rating of Excellent which combined resulted in a final Superior rating overall. This is the 3rd time in five years the Wind Ensemble has received a Superior rating at the District level. Congratulations to all the members of the Wind Ensemble!
THANK YOU to all the parents for your support of your child in the Seminole Ridge Band Program!
** GO SMARTMUSIC! All of our tunes played at this District Assessment were on the SmartMusic program and given as test for the students to work on and help them play the music better.
